Our journey

Intertradedocs was founded by Wilhelmina (Willy) Ligthart, a logistics professional with more than 40 years of experience in international trade.

After decades of working on the ground in logistics, export and freight forwarding, Willy saw first hand how much time and effort could go into getting trade documentation right, particularly for small and medium businesses. She also saw how easily manual processes could lead to costly mistakes.

In 2012, she created Intertradedocs to give exporters a simpler, more affordable way to manage their documentation. Today, Intertradedocs remains true to that original idea: give smaller exporters the tools they need without unnecessary complexity.
